Mayor’s Remarks:
1. Today's municipal administrative meeting, held on February 6th, signifies our last gathering before the Lunar New Year festivities commence. This year, the holiday period is shorter, so I hope that everyone can utilize this brief respite to recharge before returning to our administrative duties with renewed enthusiasm. Looking ahead, our city anticipates a bustling calendar of events and a multitude of demands from our citizens this year. It is imperative that we approach the demands from both citizens and city council members with an open mind and promptly address them. Throughout the Lunar New Year holiday, it is crucial to acknowledge that the city government will remain operational. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Police Bureau, Fire Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, and all other relevant bureaus and departments for their steadfast commitment to maintaining public security, managing traffic, and upholding environmental health standards during this period. On behalf of all citizens in our entire city, I express heartfelt appreciation to all colleagues for their hard work and dedication.
2. The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) Display Zone of the Lantern Festival is set to open on February 24th, alongside the "2024 Taiwan International Orchid Show and World Orchid Conference." The International Orchid Show, a collaborative effort subsidized by both the central government and the Tainan City government and organized by the private sector, holds significant importance for our city's reputation. All bureaus are urged to provide their utmost assistance in ensuring the success of this event. We hope that through engaging activities, such as the Lantern Festival and Orchid Show, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of Tainan, thereby fostering a stronger affinity for our city.
3. Regarding the "Road Drainage Improvement Project on Wangxing E. Road, Yongkang District, Tainan City," the Water Resources Bureau is requested to ensure that the vendor completes the project before the onset of the flood season while maintaining vigilance over the project's quality.
4. During the Lantern Festival, I urge all staff members on duty in every bureau and department to execute their assigned responsibilities diligently.
5. During the Lantern Festival, road control personnel are asked to guide the public courteously to prevent any actions that may lead to public dissatisfaction.
