Mayor’s Remarks:
1. With the Qingming Festival holiday approaching, all bureaus and departments are urged to enforce safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents. Yesterday (the 24th), a chlorine gas leak at a local factory resulted in casualties. This was a serious workplace safety incident. The Labor Affairs Bureau is instructed to carry out thorough inspections and develop concrete safety measures, while relevant departments must strengthen preventive efforts.
2. The first phase of the Blue Line of the Tainan City Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system has passed the review of the National Development Council. The Transportation Bureau is requested to revise the plan promptly based on feedback from relevant agencies and submit it to the Executive Yuan for approval. In addition to Phase 1 of the Blue Line, the city’s MRT priority network includes five other lines. The Transportation Bureau should make full use of the time available and accelerate planning.
3. On March 27th, the central government will hold the first-ever "Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience Small-Scale Live Drill" in Tainan City. Senior central officials will be present to observe. As the drill will be conducted without a script and poses a high level of difficulty, all relevant bureaus and departments must be on high alert and fully prepared.
4. For the "Left Bank Protection Project along Gangweigou Creek Drainage, Section 6K+302 to 6K+902 in Rende District," the Water Resources Bureau is asked to urge the contractor to expedite progress and ensure timely and high-quality completion.
5. The FOCASA Circus will premiere at Shuijiaoshe Cultural Park on March 28th. The Cultural Affairs Bureau is asked to plan the surrounding traffic control measures in advance.
6. For the audit reports submitted by the Audit Division each year, all bureaus and departments must address deficiencies or provide justifications to avoid becoming the subject of council member inquiries or being referred by the Audit Division to the Control Yuan. To that end, Deputy Secretary-General Yu is asked to convene the Civil Service Ethics Office and the Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission to supervise and ensure that necessary improvements are implemented.
