Minutes of Tainan City Government’s 714th Municipal Administrative Meeting Mayor’s remarks 09/09/2025

Mayor’s Remarks:
1. Two months have passed since the typhoon, and Tainan City is steadily recovering. Although the recovery work is extensive and complex, it has been carried out and completed more efficiently than similar efforts in the past or in other counties and cities. Currently, 96% of relief funds have been disbursed. Please expedite the review of pending applications and ensure accuracy to avoid errors. For cases involving the matching of residents with contractors for home repairs, please remain attentive to dengue fever prevention. Locally transmitted dengue cases have been reported in other counties and cities, and Tainan has recently confirmed its 11th imported case. All bureaus and departments are urged to remain vigilant and respond proactively to potential public health and infectious disease concerns.
2. There have been recent public reports indicating that the cleanliness of public restrooms needs improvement. All bureaus and departments are requested to strengthen cleaning efforts and ensure the timely replenishment of supplies within their respective areas of responsibility.
3. Jiangjun District, one of the areas affected by Typhoon Danas, continues with its recovery efforts. In addition, the district successfully hosted the "Jiangjun Roar Music Festival" last week, which drew a record number of attendees and received highly positive feedback from the public. We thank the public for their support and will continue to do our best. As September is traditionally the off-season for tourism, relevant bureaus and departments are requested to manage environmental maintenance, public order, traffic control, and security measures properly to help maximize tourism benefits during this period.
4. From September 23 to 26, the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce will convene a conference in Tainan City, with approximately 1,400 successful Taiwanese entrepreneurs and representatives from around the world expected to attend. Relevant bureaus and departments are requested to prepare for the reception of overseas Taiwanese guests and distinguished business leaders. This event also presents a valuable opportunity for business networking and collaboration. The Economic Development Bureau, outstanding local enterprises, and the Federation of Industry are encouraged to pursue partnership opportunities actively with Taiwanese businesspeople from around the world. Relevant bureaus and departments are also asked to ensure venue cleanliness and security so that guests leave with a positive and lasting impression of Tainan.
5. Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations will begin in October. Relevant bureaus and departments are requested to make appropriate preparations.
6. Regarding the "Tainan City Lee Ko-Yung Memorial Library Construction Project," the Cultural Affairs Bureau is requested to oversee the contractor’s completion of the detailed design actively to facilitate a smooth review and approval process and prevent delays in the construction schedule.
