Major’s Remarks:
1. Tainan City was one of the founding cities of the Taiwan Alliance for Healthy Cities. In this year's Survey of Sustainable Healthy Cities, it was honored with the top ranking nationwide, thanks to the dedicated efforts of various bureaus and departments. The city's health initiatives for its citizens are extensive, covering such areas as epidemic prevention, air quality, long-term care, sports, and education. All relevant bureaus and departments are encouraged to enhance their efforts further. The Public Health Bureau is tasked with the ongoing assessment of citizens' health status and securing budgetary allocations from the central government to ensure the equitable distribution of medical resources across regions.
2. The Creative Expo Taiwan, organized by the central government, is now open and will run until September 1. The Culture Affairs Bureau is tasked with consistently promoting the event, addressing traffic flow and parking challenges around the venue, and providing visitors with timely, accurate information. The Transportation Bureau is asked to enhance public transportation links accordingly, while the Police Bureau should continue to intensify traffic diversion efforts around the area. These measures are designed to ensure a smooth and successful conclusion to this national cultural and creative event.
3. The Economic Development Bureau is requested to provide a report on the "2023 Seismic Reinforcement Project for Tainan City Public Retail Market Building" directly to me. Additionally, the Department of Legal Affairs is asked to offer assistance in this matter.

1. The Civil Affairs Bureau presented a report titled “Initiative for Centralized Festival Celebrations, Centralized Joss Paper Burning, and Charitable Contributions in Place of Joss Paper Burning” (refer to written sources for details).

Mayor’s Comments:
(1) Tainan, known as the City of All Gods, has seen positive annual growth in its initiative to promote centralized joss paper burning. The Civil Affairs Bureau is tasked with collaborating with the Economic Development Bureau to intensify promotional efforts toward companies, businesses, commercial districts, and industrial zones.
(2) For the initiative encouraging charitable contributions in place of joss paper burning, the Civil Affairs Bureau is tasked with collaborating with such entities as companies and temples. This cooperation aims to encourage worship groups to donate materials to in-kind banks, which can then distribute these goods to truly needy and vulnerable groups. This approach transforms good intentions into real actions. We extend our gratitude to the Civil Affairs Bureau for their efforts.
2. The Transportation Bureau presented a report titled "Implementation Outcomes of the Pedestrian-Friendly Intersection Optimization Project" (refer to written sources for details).

Mayor’s Comments:
(1) Last year, safety operations were initiated at 100 major intersections. Appreciation is extended to the Transportation Bureau and associated bureaus and departments for the timely completion of projects, including pedestrian scramble, leading pedestrian interval, and pedestrian signals, within a short period of time. The Transportation Bureau is encouraged to maintain its collaboration with the Public Works Bureau and other departments to enhance pedestrian safety further. This should include the promotion of pedestrian islands and offset crossings, alongside improvements to sidewalks and related markings. Furthermore, the Police Bureau is urged to intensify its enforcement against the illegal occupation of pedestrian spaces and to bolster both publicity and law enforcement efforts.
(2) The Transportation Bureau is requested to review areas for improvement in the second phase of the pedestrian safety enhancement and continue to promote pedestrian scramble, leading pedestrian interval, pedestrian signals, and marked sidewalks, including the expansion of intersection corners. This initiative aims to prevent improper road design from leading to collisions between vehicles and pedestrians or other traffic accidents.
