Mayor’s Remarks:
1. The municipal government has conveyed its eagerness to establish a cutting-edge 1.4-nanometer manufacturing facility to the central government. Yesterday (27th), central government officials and legislators visited our city to inspect potential sites, where relevant departments reported on the city's water and electricity supply. Besides this location, Tainan has many compliant sites with secure water and electricity resources suitable for use by science parks and manufacturing companies. This underscores our commitment to economic development. I would like to thank all departments for their efforts in this matter.
2. A series of events including the 2024 Taiwan Lantern Festival, events organized by YueJin Art Museum, Longci Light Festival, and Christmas and New Year's celebrations will soon unfold. Expecting a significant turnout, concerned departments are urged to ensure effective environmental cleanliness, traffic management, and order maintenance. This will allow more citizens and visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of Tainan.
3. In anticipation of ANZTEC, which will take effect in 2025, liquid milk from New Zealand will be imported with zero tariffs, posing a significant challenge to Taiwan's dairy industry. Although Tainan has a limited number of dairy farms, it supplies a considerable amount of milk. To assist dairy farmers in transitioning and enhancing their competitiveness, the Agriculture Bureau is urged to actively engage with central government departments and proactively deploy response plans.
4. When organizing events, departments should establish effective horizontal communications and consider cross-promoting products from other departments to maximize marketing benefits.
5. Activities organized by the private sector or communities should be incorporated into the Bureau of Sports' health passport program.
6. When the Bureau of Education engages in exchanges with sister and friendship schools, please consider gifting the schools with local fruits to add to school lunches. This not only promotes friendship but also boosts the export volume of local agricultural products. All departments are encouraged to consider their available resources in support of promoting the city's agricultural products in this direction.
