Major’s Remarks:
1. Last week, Typhoon Krathon impacted Taiwan, resulting in a three-day typhoon holiday in Tainan City. Despite the severe weather, government operations continued without interruption. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Police Bureau, Fire Bureau, Public Works Bureau, Water Resources Bureau, and Environmental Protection Bureau for their diligent efforts in ensuring the safety of citizens and the continuity of municipal operations during the typhoon period. Additionally, we appreciate the support personnel who assisted in post-disaster recovery efforts in other counties and cities. On behalf of the citizens, we thank everyone for their dedication and hard work.
2. This year’s Nan Ying International Folklore Festival has been well received by the local community. This Saturday, in coordination with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Xinhua Wude Hall, an outdoor dance event will be held in the area. The Culture Affairs Bureau is requested to incorporate the results of the restoration of Xinhua Old Street and present them to the public, tourists visiting Tainan, and the media. We thank the Culture Affairs Bureau for their efforts and look forward to when the Nan Ying International Folklore Festival achieves outstanding results and makes a lasting, positive impression on the public. During the event, the organizing authorities are asked to ensure effective traffic management and promote relevant policies.
3. Due to the breach of the banks of the Bazhang River, the surrounding farmland was covered with river soil. The Land Administration Bureau, Public Works Bureau, and Economic Development Bureau are requested to consult with the central government to redirect suitable soil to land consolidation areas, industrial zones, or public construction sites for use as fill material.
