2. The Agriculture Bureau’s report on regulation measures for the production and sales of local mangoes (refer to written sources for details)
Decision: Approved for reference filing
As a producer of mangoes, Tainan’s mango sales have been hit by a number of factors, including a decrease in in-person promotional events and issues with Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Co., Ltd. This has resulted in a decrease in the number of mangoes delivered and sold. The number of tourists has also dropped because of the pandemic. These all adversely affect the sale of local mangoes. On the bright side, Tainan has seen an increase in exports, mango processing, and online sales, which benefit the sale of mangoes. I ask the Agriculture Bureau, concerned departments, and municipal advisers to brainstorm ways to increase the advantage of local mangoes. Let’s not let the hard work of local farmers go to waste.
