1. I ask the Agriculture Bureau to further promote marketing channels for green skinned oranges, tangerines, and oranges.
2. The election is about to take place. I urge all departments to fulfill their duties and prevent negative press.
3. Many events are to take place in the upcoming weekends. Concerned departments should provision for these events. For example, the Police Department should increase the number of voluntary police officers to facilitate traffic and prevent traffic jams from occurring. Let’s make sure these events are concluded without incident.

1. The Public Works Bureau’s report adding a bypass between Tainan Metropolitan Expressway and National Highway No. 1 (refer to written sources for details)

Mayor’s Remarks:
A modern metropolis should be equipped with expressways that connect different pockets of the city. For example, Taipei has the Xinsheng Expressway, Jianguo Expressway, and Civic Boulevard. Although Tainan City has a grid network of four expressways that run horizontally and three that run vertically through the city, construction for the northern bypass that connects more densely populated areas has only recently begun. Stage one of the construction project has been completed, stage two is underway, stage the was launched today (19th), and stage four remains in the design phase. Tainan is slower to build expressways compared to other municipalities. To accommodate our rapidly growing population, we should proactively promote such construction projects. I would like to thank the Construction and Planning Agency, Freeway Bureau, and Public Works Bureau for their efforts. I anticipate that these projects will be completed on time with excellent quality, further increasing the convenience of transportation for our citizens.
2. The Cultural Affairs Bureau’s report on the 2022 Mattauw Earth Triennial (refer to written sources for details)

Mayor’s Remarks:
(1) The 2022 Mattauw Earth Triennial is the largest triennial held to date. Running from October 15, 2022, to January 29, 2023, the theme of this highly cultural event is focused on the Zhengwen River, Tainan’s “mother river.”
(2) This year’s event is on an even greater scale than before. The event will take place in three major locations, namely Madou Master Art Center, Guantian Duba Workstation, and Longtian Culture Heritage Area, of which Madou Master Art Center is already quite well-known. The latter two locations are also worth a visit. We have the Cultural Affairs Bureau, curators, and multiple artists to thank for such a cultural feast.
