2. The municipal government holds many events this time of year. I ask concerned departments to maintain traffic and public safety. Please ensure that Tainan is a safe and clean city, and that citizens and visitors alike abode by epidemic prevention measures while celebrating the coming new year.

Mayor’s Remarks:
(1) Tainan’s plan of road-smoothing project is conducted in many stages. In the past, the public had much to say about the smoothness and quality of Tainan’s roads. Having smooth roads is a basic requirement that should be satisfied. The municipal government placed particular emphasis on such projects this year (2022), allocating significant funding and improving the condition of many roads. It is imperative that the public can see a tangible improvement in road quality.
(2) To demonstrate that we place an equal emphasis on urban and rural infrastructure, damage to roads in suburban areas or roads that connect towns, similar to situations in urban areas, must be repaired as soon as possible. To make it easier for departments that oversee construction, comprehensive information on piping can be completed in conjunction with road-smoothing projects.

I ask the organizers, Economic Development Bureau, Public Health Bureau, and concerned departments to enforce epidemic prevention measures. Concerned departments should control traffic, maintain the cleanliness of the environment, and implement epidemic prevention measures during events.
