Mayor’s Remarks:
1.    Today (the 17th) is the last municipal meeting before the Lunar New Year holiday begins. Our service to the public continues even during holidays. The Police Department and Fire Department are particularly busy this time of the year. On behalf of the 1.85 million citizens of Tainan City, I would like to thank municipal employees for their hard work and devotion. I believe you will continue to do excellent work in maintaining the environment, health and hygiene standards, public safety, and traffic conditions of Tainan City during the holidays. Let's strive to provide citizens and visitors with a happy, safe, and smooth holiday. Again, thank you for your hard work.
2.    The Agriculture Bureau, please issue a press release detailing the status of tomato subsidies. In addition, the Agriculture Bureau should assist and make plans for the marketing of shallots.
3.    Regarding the issues of Syuejia Poultry Farm, the Bureau of Land Administration, Agriculture Bureau, Public Works Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, and other related departments should handle and process these issues based on the conclusions reached in the meeting as soon as possible and issue to the press.

Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor’s Remarks:
(1)     With Lunar New Year around the corner, I urge the Bureau of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Bureau to ramp up disinfecting work at popular attractions during the upcoming special events.
(2)     I want to thank the Bureau of Tourism for planning eight thematic tours both north and south of the Zhengwun River. The itineraries look very exciting. The Department of Information and International Relations should assist in increasing the exposure of these tours on TV and online.
(3)     The Bureau of Tourism, please enhance the promotion of events at Hutoupi, Hulupi, and Deyuanpi. The Cultural Affairs Bureau should also ramp up the marketing for Longtian Culture Heritage Area. Please invite local street artists to perform at these locations, which will attract more visitors.
(4)     Relevant departments should plan accordingly to maintain public safety, environmental cleanliness, epidemic prevention measures, and traffic conditions during these events.
(5)     Although the pandemic shows a sign of easing, the Lunar New Year is when large crowds travel through Tainan. Thus, we must continue following epidemic prevention measures to prevent another outbreak. I ask the Public Health Bureau to elevate its focus on preventing COVID-19, enterovirus, and Dengue fever. I also urge citizens to vaccinate against COVID-19 for their health and safety.
