The Public Works Bureau should ensure that the public construction projects at the Tangshan Barracks in Guanmiao District, which is part of the Army Artillery Training Command Center, and the New Hushan Training Grounds are progressing according to schedule. In order to expedite the relocation of the command center, I suggest conducting inspections on the completed portions of the construction.

(1) Last year, Tainan became the first municipality in Taiwan to establish a community-based program for alcohol addiction management. This program is centered on actively identifying high-risk groups and providing medical rehabilitation resources. Tainan’s simultaneous implementation of rehab and DUI-prevention measures has proven effective, with a decrease in the number of DUI cases and DUI-related traffic accidents. I encourage the Public Health Bureau to continue supporting those with alcohol addiction through their rehabilitation journey and help them work toward improving their health.
(2) Relevant departments should assist the Public Health Bureau in promoting channels for combating alcohol addiction and the establishment of alcohol-free environments in daily life.

Mayor’s Remarks:
(1) From March 2022 to February 2023, law enforcement has reported an additional 541 cases of DUI. Compared to the same period the previous year, DUI-related traffic accidents have decreased by 137 cases. I would like to express my gratitude to our police officers for their hard work and efficiency in reducing the number of DUI-related accidents while minimizing loss of life and property damage. I urge the Police Department to continue publishing photos of repeat offenders and to assist individuals with alcohol addiction in entering rehabilitation programs.
(2) Concerned departments should engage in further communication with establishments and restaurants that serve alcohol, encouraging their staff to promote the use of designated drivers, taxis, or assistance from friends and family for customers who have consumed alcohol. By doing so, we can ensure everyone's safety and reduce the number of DUI-related accidents, thus improving society as a whole. Once again, I commend the Police Department for their outstanding work.
